Big Brother Bag

Well, we’re still here, waiting for the baby to arrive. Our due date is just over two weeks away, so we’re mostly just waiting.

I’m not very good at waiting.

So I’m trying to get as many things done as I can before (s)he decides to show up, and one of those things is putting together a gift for Little Man from “Tiny” (his name for the baby until it’s born.) I think that Little Man will do pretty well with a new baby, but we just won’t know until then, will we? I’m hoping this gift helps him to feel special when the new baby gets a good portion of his heretofore undivided attention.

Maternity Dress

I made a dress.

I know that I generally seem pretty crafty on this blog, but I am no seamstress. Until recently I’ve been completely freaked out by sewing machines in general. So this is my first actual article of clothing that I sewed myself. And it’s kind of cheating, because I used a t-shirt for the top. Giraffe and Whale Onesies

Hi friends!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was solidly OK, but I still feel like I could use about 20 more hours of sleep. Which is pretty much a constant feeling for me these days.

Anyhow. I’m sharing some embellished onesies with you today. I made these, oh, back in August. Nothing like staying on top of things, amirite?

But hey, you’re still getting to see them, right? That counts for something, I’m sure.

Handmade Gift– Fabric Flower Headband

Earlier this week, I shared with you an idea for a handmade beaded necklace. Today, I’m sharing with you the headband I made to go with it.

It’s not super matchy, but has similar colors, and can be easily worn with the necklace or separate. I for this project, I used a headband base I found at a craft store, taffeta and organza in a grey color, silver sequins, and purple bugle beads. The design is really simple, but I feel it gives a nice impact.

Handmade Gift – Beaded Necklace

Ok, friends, this is the first post in a little series I’m doing in the next couple of weeks on some simple handmade gifts you can make.

These are gifts I made last Christmas. And they’re mostly for women. Sorry, guys. I’m not very good at making handmade stuff for men. It doesn’t come as naturally for me.

Anyhow. This is a necklace I made for my sister. I think it turned out pretty well, but I had some frustrations making it, so hopefully you can learn from my mistakes!

Let’s break it down.
